An official translation of your licence, needed only for non-EU/EEA licences.
An International Driving Permit (IDP) is an official translation of your licence into several languages. It does not replace your licence: you present both together.
You do not need one if your licence is from an EU or EEA country. Nor for UK licences, which remain valid in Spain for tourist stays after Brexit.
You usually do need one for licences from non-EU countries that are not in the Latin alphabet or where no bilateral agreement exists. If you are unsure about your case, write to us before booking.
You apply in the country that issued your licence, not in Spain, and it can take anywhere from a few days to several weeks. You cannot arrange it once you have arrived.
We deal with British, German, Dutch and Scandinavian customers every day, so we know which paperwork applies in each case. If your licence is from outside the EU, ask us before booking and we will confirm.
Zero-excess insurance, no deposit, unlimited kilometres and free cancellation up to 72h before.
