No-show

Failing to turn up for the car without cancelling, which usually means losing what you paid.

A no-show is failing to turn up for the vehicle at the booked date and time without cancelling first. The usual consequence is losing the full amount paid, with the booking cancelled and no right to rebook.

Most companies hold the vehicle for a grace period — one to two hours — and then release it.

The common case: the delayed flight

If your flight is delayed and you do not tell anyone, you can be marked as a no-show even if you arrive the same day. This is why giving your flight number at booking matters: the company can track the arrival and hold the car. A message about the delay is usually enough to avoid the problem.
