A second person authorised to drive the vehicle and covered by the insurance.
An additional driver is a second person named on the contract as authorised to drive. Getting them on the paperwork matters: if an undeclared driver has an accident, the insurance may not respond, however comprehensive the cover you bought.
Most companies charge between €5 and €12 per day for this. Over two weeks that is €70 to €168 simply to share the driving.
The same requirements as the main driver: a valid licence held for the minimum period, and photo ID. They need to be present at handover to sign.
The second driver is free on all our rates. Taking turns on a long drive or sharing the car through the holiday should not be a paid extra.
