A surcharge for collecting the vehicle at an airport, usually a percentage of the rental.
The airport surcharge is a fee for collecting the car at airport premises. It is usually a percentage of the rental amount, often between 12% and 20%, and reflects the concession fee airports charge companies to operate there.
It is not always broken out when comparing prices: sometimes it is added at confirmation, and sometimes it is folded into the rate but explains why airport collection costs noticeably more than a city office.
Some companies offer a cheaper office near the airport in exchange for a shuttle bus. Weigh the saving against waiting for a bus with luggage after a long flight, particularly with children in tow.
We meet you in arrivals at Alicante and Valencia, 24 hours a day, with no shuttle and no desk. The price you see when booking is the price you pay: no airport surcharge and no supplement for a night or delayed flight.
Zero-excess insurance, no deposit, unlimited kilometres and free cancellation up to 72h before.
