Uncommon in Spanish fleets, usually costs more and is worth booking well ahead.
Automatic transmission is a minority in Spanish rental fleets, unlike in the UK or the United States. Most available cars are manual, and that has three practical consequences.
It costs more: the usual supplement runs from 15% to 30% over the equivalent manual rate. There are fewer of them: in high season they sell out early. And it must be confirmed: if you book a group without specifying the transmission, you will normally be assigned a manual.
Book early and confirm it explicitly. Turning up at the desk assuming an automatic will be available is one of the most common ways to end up without a car, especially in July and August.
We run both automatics and manuals. Being a local company managing our own vehicles, we can confirm real automatic availability when you book rather than leaving it to whatever is on the forecourt that day.
Zero-excess insurance, no deposit, unlimited kilometres and free cancellation up to 72h before.
